Ford Sollers retrofitted its engine production facility in Yelabuga

26 April 2017, Wednesday

As part of the introduction of innovative solutions into production processes, Ford Sollers installed new high-tech equipment at its engine plant in Yelabuga. The retrofitting was carried out at the quality control and additional testing sections. The retooling of the facility also included a new testing area; the plant acquired innovative digital industrial cameras for remote monitoring of the production process.

Six new industrial cameras verify the correct installation of engine parts by comparing numerous image parameters obtained during shooting. New cameras are installed at a number of engine plant stations to ensure continuous monitoring for critical characteristics of engine structure in the production process.

New dynamometer systems allow performing a number of engine routine tests on-site, for example, endurance testing for checking engine lifecycle during operation; thermal cycle tests for checking the quality of castings and seals in the engine structure, etc. In the past, the engines underwent testing on the dynamometer stands of the engine plant in Bridgend, UK.

New dynamometers are used to carry out both routine tests and separate tests of changed parts and new materials in order to confirm their compliance.
