On 3 February 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meeting of the Council of Trustees of a non-profit organization Tatarstan Investment and Venture Fund (IVF) that was chaired by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov.

The main topic of the meeting was a permanent international platform for implementation of innovative projects. It was created by the order of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, which he gave in 2015 during the 15th Russian Venture Fair and the 10th Kazan Venture Fair.

During the meeting of the Council of Trustees of the Tatarstan Investment and Venture Fund (IVF), the participants discussed and adopted the Acceleration programme for innovation companies and the Action plan for the 16th Russian Venture Fair and the 11th Kazan Venture Fair.

On 3 February 2016, the opening ceremony of the Tatarstan International Automotive Forum “TIAF” was held at the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre. The event was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Head of the Department for Transport and Special Machine Building under the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Aleksandr Naumov, Director General of the Association of European Businesses Frank Schauff, heads of leading automotive enterprises located in Tatarstan and Russia, such as KAMAZ, Ford Sollers, YelAZ, PCMA RUS, AVTOVAZ and others, as well as representatives of foreign companies, federal and Tatarstan ministries and agencies.

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and distinguished guests of the Forum made a tour of the exhibition, which presented the latest achievements in the automotive industry, as well as new types of raw materials and automotive components.

The plenary session “The Automotive Industry in Russia: Trends, Forecasts, Outlook” was held within the International Automotive Forum “TIAF”. Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov made a presentation of the Tatarstan industrial potential.

On 2 February 2016, the conference of employees of AO TANECO was held in Kazan. The conference was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov and Head of Nizhnekamsk District Aydar Metshin.

Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade started his visit with a tour of the TANECO Complex. Albert Karimov learnt about the projects under construction of Oil Refining and Petrochemical Complex and construction progress of CDU-AVT-6, a second plant for primary oil processing. The plant project is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2017, what will bring TANECO`s volume of oil processing up to 14 million tonnes per year. As a result, Tatarstan will process about 23 million tonnes on an annual basis.

During the conference, participants discussed the results of the Collective Agreement of the enterprise for 2015. A new Collective Agreement was signed as well.

 

On 2 February 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the conference of the employees of OAO TAIF-NK. During the conference, participants discussed the performance of the Collective Agreement of the company for 2015 and signed a new one.

Last year, TAIF-NK refined a record number of oil and gas in amount of 8.4 million tonnes. The production facilities were used for 101.1%.

Describing the activities of employees from TAIF-NK, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov called the Complex of Deep Processing of Heavy Oil Residues to be one of the key economic facilities of Tatarstan. He expressed confidence that all construction works will be performed in time.

The awarding ceremony of the employees was held at the end of the conference.

 

From 3 to 5 February 2016, Tatarstan International Automotive Forum “TIAF” supported by Automechanika will be held at the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre.

On 3 February 2015, the official opening ceremony and the Forum are scheduled to be attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.

The organisers of the Forum are the Association of European Business, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, OAO Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre, and the Russian subdivision of Messe Frankfurt GmbH.

Within the framework of the business programme of the Forum, it is scheduled to hold a plenary session “The Automotive Industry in Russia: Trends, Forecasts, Outlook” with the participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov; thematic sessions “Export: Will It Save the Car Industry?” and “Import Substitution Policies: New Ways of State Support to Manufacturing Industry”; round table discussions and B2B meetings on procurement activities with the participation of top executives of the leading automotive enterprises located in Tatarstan and Russia, such as KAMAZ, FordSollers, YelAZ, PCMA RUS, AVTOVAZ, etc.

On 1 February 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov held a working meeting on improving the arrangement and holding of the Contest for Quality Awards of the Tatarstan Government.

Within the Republic`s Contest for Quality Awards of the Tatarstan Government, the following contests “Tatarstan Best Manager for Quality 2015” and “Best Research and Development Activities among Students and Postgraduates of Higher Educational Institutions of the Republic of Tatarstan on Considering the Issues of Quality” were held.

The participants of the meeting discussed the proposals on improving the Republic`s contest organisational procedures.

On 29 January 2016, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with the heads of small oil companies of Tatarstan. The meeting was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Director General of FBU State Commission on Mineral Reserves Igor Shpurov, top executives of PAO Tatneft, small oil companies of Tatarstan and ministries and agencies.

In 2015, small oil companies produced 7.1 million tonns of oil. Some 367.7 thousand meters of rocks have been drilled.

 

On 28 January 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the extended meeting of the Council of the Tatarstan Association of Enterprises and Entrepreneurs.

Head of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade informed the participants about the main results of industrial development in the republic and new measures of the State support to industrial enterprises at the federal level.

During the meeting, top executives of Tatarstan industrial enterprises gave their speeches. Current economic situation in the country was discussed as well.

 

On 28 January2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov chaired the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Academician Pyotr Kirpichnikov Lyceum Boarding School with Extensive Learning of Chemistry for Gifted Children. The meeting was attended by Aide to the Tatarstan President Rinat Sabirov, Administration of the Kazan National Research Technological University and top executives of Tatarstan leading petrochemical enterprises.

During the meeting, a new composition of the Board of Trustees was approved, issues of organising the 2nd Republic`s Contest among Chemistry Teachers “All Facets of Chemistry” were discussed, the progress of the project implemented jointly with PAO Gazprom on operation of specialised Gazprom classes was considered. The opportunity of opening a class with extensive learning of catalysis on the basis of the lyceum boarding school was discussed as well. A total number of 160 students of 7 - 11 grades from Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Almetyevsk, Menzelinsk and other cities of Tatarstan are currently studying and living at the lyceum.

On 27 January 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the extended session of the Collegium of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

Addressing the participants of the Board, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that it is not an easy task to attract investments. The success of it depends on foreign policies and the internal situation in the country.

According to the Tatarstan President, holding such international events as the 1000th anniversary of Kazan, the 2013 Summer Universiade and the 2015 World Aquatics Championships had a great influence on the investment climate in the republic.

Tatarstan President emphasized that in order to attract investors and promote the republic it is important to work jointly.
