On 20 September 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, delegation from the Mubadala Development Company (United Arab Emirates), and Director General of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriyev.
Rustam Minnikhanov invited representatives of Mubadala Development Company to take part in Kazansummit, the annual international economic meeting held in Kazan.
“We will be glad to cooperate with Mubadala Development Company”, said Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
On 20 September 2016, the first in Volga Federal District distribution centre of the online shop Ozon.ru was opened in Stolbishche rural area (Laishevsky District, Tatarstan).
The official opening ceremony of a workhouse facility was attended by top executives of Ozon.ru, top officials of the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Tatarstan Presidential Envoy for Entrepreneurs' Right Protection.
Within the event, a Memorandum on cooperation was signed between online retailer OZON and the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade. The objective of the Memorandum involves actions aimed at informing buyers about Tatarstan-made goods and organising the distribution of Tatarstan-made products online at Ozon.Ru megamarket.
On 20 September 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the official events dedicated to commissioning the 2nd stage of a residential house in Krasny Metallist housing estate and a mechanical engineering workshop at AO Zelenodolsk Shipyard.
Prior to celebrating the Day of Mechanical Engineer, AO Zelenodolsk Shipyard hosted an official ceremony of commissioning the 2nd stage of a residential house of Krasny Metallist housing estate. It should be noted that the foundation stone laying ceremony for this house was held in October 2013 with the participation of Russian Deputy Chairman of the Government Dmitry Rogozin and Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov.
Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov also participated in the official ceremony of opening the workshop No.8 at Zelenodolsk Shipyard after its renovation.
On 20 September 2016, Kazan hosted the International Scientific and Applied Conference “Ensuring Competition in Commercial Activities”.
The conference was attended by Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia Andrey Kashevarov, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Chairman of the Committee for Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Agriculture and Food Policies under the Tatarstan State Council Takhir Khadeyev, and Director of the Russian Union of Independent Chains Sergey Kuznetsov.
Participants of the conference discussed amendments to the Law on Commercial Activities.
On 20 September 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus in Russia Igor Petrishenko. During the meeting, parties discussed issues of further development of bilateral cooperation between Tatarstan and Belarus within the Russian-Belarus relations. They also discussed an issue of implementing a number of joint projects.
Main areas for bilateral cooperation traditionally include mechanical engineering, production of agricultural machinery, and manufacture of special-purpose equipment, petrochemicals, textiles, pharmaceuticals, agricultural products, and food supply.
On 19 September 2016, Korston Hotel & Mall in Kazan hosted the 6th session of the Russia-Japan Advisory Council on Modernisation of the Russian Economy. The event was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Russia Toyohisa Kozuki, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Russian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Stanislav Voskresensky, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Chairman of Transport Section of Japan-Russia Economic Committee of Japan Business Federation Takeshi Hashimoto, President of All-Russia Public Organisation Business Russia, Chairman of Russian-Japanese Business Council Aleksey Repik, and top officials from ministries and agencies of Russia and Tatarstan.
Participants of the meeting discussed a number of promising projects in implementing advanced technologies, establishing export base to markets of Asia-Pacific Region including industrial development at the Far East, diversifying Russia’s industrial structure and improving its efficiency, developing relations in energy production and increasing the production capacity in medical sphere and health care, and developing urban environment.
On 19 September 2016, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov participated in the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Japanese delegation headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Russia Toyohisa Kozuki.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that a visit of Tatarstan delegation to Japan is scheduled in the nearest future; in October 2016, Kyoto will host the International Science and Technology in Society Forum.
“We are willing to expand our relations with Japanese entrepreneurs. Technologies and funds of many Japan-based companies are used in our republic: in construction of petrochemical facilities, health care, agriculture, and IT sphere. It is important for us to further employ the existing economic potential for expanding bilateral cooperation”, said Tatarstan President during his meeting with Ambassador Toyohisa Kozuki.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, activities to attract Japan-based SMEs are not arranged very well yet and it is essential to improve this situation in order to yield good results.

US-based CB&I expressed its interest in further development of cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan, including Tatarstan petrochemical companies.
It was stated on 16 September 2016 by Senior Vice President for Global Sales at CB&I Scott Wiseman during his meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
The meeting was held in the Tatarstan House of Government and was attended by top managers of CB&I, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Aide to the Tatarstan President Rinat Sabirov, etc.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan and CB&I are having joined projects with such enterprises and groups of companies as PAO Nizhnekamskneftekhim, TANECO, TAIF-NK, and others.
In turn, Scott Wiseman expressed his gratitude for choosing CB&I to implement a number of projects at Tatarstan petrochemical enterprises.
On 16 September 2016, an agreement on cooperation was signed between Tatarstan and PAO Promsvyazbank. The signatories of the document were Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Chairman of the Board of Directors at PAO Promsvyazbank Dmitry Ananiev.
The signing ceremony took place in the Tatarstan House of Government at the end of the meeting between Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Chairman of the Promsvyazbank Board Dmitry Ananiev. The meeting was attended by Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov. During the meeting, parties discussed issues of further bilateral cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, Dmitry Ananiev answered questions of mass media representatives. According to him, the agreement signed today is another milestone for the presence of PAO Promsvyazbank in the region and continuation of its activities there.
