In the course of his working trip to Naberezhnye Chelny, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visited the KAMAZ main assembly line and met with its employees.
President Minnikhanov said that despite difficulties related to the pandemic, the company was demonstrating growth of financial indicators, and the plant was working hard to upgrade its production facilities.
During the meeting, the factory employees inquired about the prospects for exporting KAMAZ’s products. Rustam Minnikhanov noted that a promising foreign market for the Chelny-based giant is Central Asia: Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. There are also plans to develop cooperation with Turkey. “In addition, we have good demand in the domestic market. Today, KAMAZ is a brand in the domestic mechanical engineering sector,” stressed the Tatarstan President.
Rustam Minnikhanov also gave a brief account of the socio-economic situation in the region. “This year we are doing quite well, better than in 2019. We expect a GRP growth rate of 3.5% and even more. KAMAZ has a big share in the republic’s economy. We are implementing 44 republic’s programmes. And we plan to maintain all volumes next year,” the President added.
As part of his visit to KAMAZ, Rustam Minnikhanov visited the press-frame plant where he saw the retrofitting process of the automatic side-bar production line, paint line, and frame assembly conveyor.
