Tatarstan and Uzbekistan strengthen cooperation in trade and economic areas

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov had a videoconference meeting today with Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Director of Investment Project Development Centre Khurram Teshabaev.

The event was also attended by heads of leading enterprises and organisations of Tatarstan and Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state, promising areas, as well as issues concerning further deepening of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic, investment, transport, logistics, and other areas. Such projects include production of KAMAZ trucks in Uzbekistan, creation of Himgrad industrial park in Tashkent region, development of IT and housing and other projects.

“We do hope that these activities, visits and meetings, of which we have had a lot this year, will produce great results for mutual benefit”, Minister Karimov said. In conclusion, he expressed gratitude to leaders of Uzbekistani enterprises and organisations for special attention to developing cooperation with Tatarstan.

Also, Albert Karimov invited enterprises from Uzbekistan to visit Tatarstan to take part in the Tatarstan Mechanical Engineering Forum in early December this year.
