I Opt for the Sky air festival

The I Opt for the Sky air festival dedicated to the Day of the Russian Air Fleet will take place at the Kazan Family Centre on August 7, 2021. The event is organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan and the Kazanskaya Yarmarka.

It is aimed at popularising aviation among young people, raising their awareness of the aviation industry, enhancing the prestige of engineering and technical jobs, and holding a holiday for industry professionals.

About 20 aircraft, including aircraft of the Russian Ministry of Defence, civil and experimental aviation, the Central Aero Club of Tatarstan, and Kazan Helicopters are taking part in the programme. The Strizhi aerobatic team was also invited.

The event will include children’s modelling clubs, parachute demonstrations, various master classes, a concert programme, award ceremony for distinguished workers of the aviation industry of Tatarstan, entertainment programme for children, career guidance alley, where the leading enterprises of Tatarstan’s aviation industry will demonstrate their achievements and invite young people to join their ranks.

In addition, on this day, the Kazan Higher Armoured Command School will hold another information and awareness campaign about military contract service in the Russian Armed Forces. It will include a visit to the Museum of Military Glory, the military contract service recruitment point, and displays of small arms and uniforms.
