Tatarstan allocated over RUB 138 million for natural gas (methane) conversion

In 2021, more than RUB 138 million will be allocated from the Tatarstan budget to fund the vehicle conversion to natural gas (methane), with account taken for the co-financing from the federal budget, and more than RUB 250 million will be allocated to subsidise the construction of CNG filling stations.

Today, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Timur Samatov held a round table discussion on the development of NGV fuel market with participation of Minister of Industry and Geology of Sakha (Yakutia) Maksim Tereshchenko, representatives of investment development agencies of Tatarstan and Sakha (Yakutia), and the business community. The event was held at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan as part of the Days of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in Tatarstan.

“Tatarstan pays great attention to the development of the gas motor fuel market. So, there is a government programme since 2013 for the development of the NGV fuel market, and there is a government programme since 2018 for the construction of CNG filling stations in the territory of Tatarstan. As part of these programmes, more than 6,000 vehicles have been converted to natural gas (methane) and more than 3,000 vehicles have been purchased, with 28 CNG filling stations located throughout the republic”, Timur Samatov said in his speech.

He noted that in 2021, this work will be continued.
