Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov visited the new production site of divinyl styrene synthetic rubber (DSSR) with a capacity of 60,000 tonnes a year and styrene-butadiene-styrene thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) at Nizhnekamskneftekhim.
DSSR has attractive properties for tyre manufacturers. Application of DSSR in tyre production allows achieving the increase of its service life, better grip on wet, icy roads, and fuel economy. Another new type of polymer to be produced at the plant is styrene-butadiene-styrene thermoplastic elastomers (TPE). These products are used as additives for asphalt concrete pavement and roofing materials.
The Tatarstan President toured the DSSR production site. State-of-the-art technologies in line with international standards of industrial and environmental safety were used in the construction of the new production line. The production line has an up-to-date air emission purification unit at the rubber extraction phase - this additional measure enables preventing the emission of pollutants into the air.
The opening ceremony was attended by TAIF’s Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Ruslan Shigabutdinov, Chairman of the Management Board of SIBUR Holding Dmitry Konov, and Director General of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Ayrat Safin.
