The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has published, for the first time, official statistics on the development of industrial parks and technoparks in Russia. In 2020, Tatarstan took 2nd place among 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, behind only the Moscow Oblast. In total, there are 23 industrial parks and 4 technoparks in the republic.

Tatarstan pays significant attention to the development of industrial parks. Total investment in park infrastructure construction exceeds RUB 10 billion. The aggregate annual revenues of park residents are over RUB 150 billion. The industrial parks have created 21,000 new jobs. The most successful industrial parks are Alabuga, Himgrad, and KIP Master.

In 2020, a total of 29 new resident units were attracted to Tatarstan’s industrial parks. These included a number of significant projects such as a joint project with Rosatom State Corporation to set up Russia’s first polyacrylonitrile filament plant for the MS-21 aircraft, with private investment of RUB 6.9 billion in equipment.

Statistics for 2020 were collected using the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade’s geo-information system (www.gisip.ru) by means of questionnaires filled in by park management companies, whose accuracy was verified by the Association of Industrial Parks of Russia and the Association of Clusters and Technoparks of Russia; the information was published on the official website of Rosstat.
