Musa Jalil’s 115th anniversary celebrated in Tashkent

On February 13, the Committee for Interethnic Relations and Friendly Ties with Foreign Countries under the Uzbekistani Cabinet of Ministers hosted a literary evening, dedicated to the 115th anniversary of Hero of the Soviet Union, poet Musa Jalil, organised by the Tatar Public Cultural and Educational Centre in Tashkent. The evening was dedicated to the Year of Native Languages and National Unity in Tatarstan.

The event was attended by Representative of Tatarstan in the Republic of Uzbekistan Aydar Ahtareev, staff of the Rossotrudnichestvo Office in Uzbekistan, Chairman of the Tatar Public Cultural and Educational Centre (TPCEC) in Tashkent Rishat Nabiullin, Chairman of the TPCEC Council of Elders Rim Giniatullin, chairmen and activists of national cultural centres, Russian compatriots, students, poets, writers, and mass media representatives.

A documentary about Musa Jalil “Sentenced to Immortality” was shown, created at the request of the Tatar community of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

Musa Jalil’s poems and songs in Uzbek, Russian, Ukrainian, Tatar, and Bashkir were performed by participants and guests of the meeting. A virtual acquaintance was held with the exhibitions of the Musa Jalil and Sharif Kamal museums in Kazan.
