Sollers Ford received a RUB 1.14 billion investment loan from SberCIB for a project to organise full-scale production of diesel engines for Ford Transit vehicles. The bank’s funds were used to buy the production assets of the engine plant from the Ford Motor Company, which was stopped after the JV Ford Sollers business restructuring in 2019.

The plant covers an area of 42,600 square metres and is located in close proximity to the Ford Transit vehicle manufacturing facility. The plant is equipped with advanced hi-tech equipment that meets all the requirements of productivity, environmental friendliness and safety in compliance with the global standards of the Ford Motor Company. The production will be automated at an extremely high level (95%), which would positively affect the quality of the engines manufactured there.

Ford Transit is one of the most popular vehicles in the LCV segment. The loyalty of its customers are due to a number of vehicle’s advantages, such as quality and reliability, low cost of ownership, high level of service in an official dealer network at an affordable, one-of-the-lowest for LCVs, maintenance cost, and many others.

The Ford Transit production has been established at the Sollers Ford plant in Yelabuga using a full-cycle technology, which allows the company to offer Russian customers an up-to-date product, customised for the buyer and adapted to operate in Russian conditions, at a competitive price. Its line of basic versions includes all-metal vans, buses and chassis.
