The Total Test for Accessible Environment is an all-Russian voluntary campaign initiated by the Accessible Environment Academy Project, where everyone can test their knowledge of the accessible environment and communication skills with people with disabilities.
More than 14,000 people from 72 constituent entities of the Russian Federation took part in a similar test conducted in 2019 with the support from the Foundation of Presidential Grants for Civil Society Development. Most of the participants are representatives of key activity areas related to social infrastructure facilities, the urban space planning, including barrier-free space, and the creation of a comfortable environment for the life of citizens, including people with disabilities.
Key thematic blocks of the test are moral and ethical aspects of communication with people with disabilities; advice on providing situational assistance, as well as when accompanying clients with hearing, vision, musculoskeletal, or mental impairments; regulatory framework and an integrated approach to accessible environment planning.
The Total Test for Accessible Environment is expected to be held annually and is one of the main methods for the Accessible Environment Academy Project to assess the effectiveness of indicators associated with accessibility of facilities and services for people with disabilities.
