Kazan Gunpowder Factory and Uzbekistan signed cooperation agreement

Last week, within the framework of a joint meeting, the management of the Kazan State-Owned Gunpowder Factory (KGKPZ) and representatives of the State Committee for Defence Industry of Uzbekistan signed an agreement on cooperation.

The key topic of discussion was the issues of strategic partnership between KGKPZ and the State Committee for Defence Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the manufacture and supply of pyroxylin powders to Uzbekistan in 2021 under the agreement on military-technical cooperation development, as well as the organisation of licensed production of pyroxylin powders in Uzbekistan. The parties agreed on the conditions, range and cost of delivery of pyroxylin propellants in 2021, determined the amount of technical documentation for own production and the opportunity of suppling raw materials (cotton cellulose) directly from Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, a joint meeting minutes was signed, where the parties confirmed their mutual interest in developing military-technical cooperation further, and working out new initiatives and areas for multifaceted bilateral partnership.

The Kazan State-Owned Gunpowder Factory is one of the largest enterprises in the industry of ammunition and special chemicals. The company produces all brands of pyroxylin powders and charges for small arms, small-calibre artillery, tank and aircraft guns, field and naval artillery, close-in systems, hunting and sporting gunpowders, nitrocellulose, lacquer colloxylins, glues, paints and varnishes.
