From November 19 to December 2, a popular vote procedure starts on the portal of the first national contest of regional food brands entitled “Tastes of Russia”. This is the first stage of a set of measures to support such products, which the Russian Ministry of Agriculture is implementing on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation.
About 500 regional food brands from 79 constituent entities of the Russian Federation were submitted for the contest. From Tatarstan, 22 brands have been applied for participation in the event.
The first Tastes of Russia contest started across Russia on October 7. Its main mission is to acquaint consumers with the variety of tastes in Russia and to show the development potential of regional food brands. The results of the contest will be announced in mid-December. All project participants will be included in the federal support and promotion programme and will have a chance to improve the qualifications of its employees, while the winners will have an opportunity to receive support for growing demand and sales.
