Sollers Ford produces 90,000th Ford Transit

Ford Transit LCVs are in demand in all spheres of business and life, due to their quality, reliability, ease of maintenance and low cost of ownership, while the cost of Ford Transit maintenance is one of the lowest in the segment. Vehicles are trusted by both individual businesses and major market players, with a fleet of more than 1000 Ford Transits. The largest one-time order exceeded 700 vehicles purchased by a major online store in 2019 to deliver goods.

Since the plant began operating in 2012, a total of 90,000 vehicles have been produced and sales are growing steadily. The most popular vehicle in the Ford Transit commercial line is the all-metal van, which accounts for about 60% of sales, followed by the single-cab chassis. The most popular colour among consumers is white, it is ordered by more than 80% of buyers.

The Ford Transit success is also ensured by the widest range of special versions: to date, the full range of vehicles based on Ford Transit includes 141 modifications for special and social purposes and continues to grow. One can order a special version vehicle in just one visit to the dealership at a single, fixed cost, thanks to the unique centralised SVO ordering system. Due to extensive customisation, the share of sales of special version vehicles is growing to over 50%.

Today, Ford Transits are used throughout Russia to deliver mail and goods, they work in the ambulance service, deliver children to schools, carry out urban and intercity transportation, and effectively solve the problems of SMEs.

Minnikhanov: some 120,000 work in our mechanical engineering sector today

There are more than 3,000 mechanical engineering enterprises employing about 120,000 people in the republic today. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said this today in Naberezhnye Chelny at a ceremony dedicated to the Mechanical Engineer’s Day. Before the official ceremony, the President toured an exhibition of products manufactured by Tatarstan’s mechanical engineering companies. The exhibition displayed trucks, buses, tractors, electric cars, charging stations, gas turbine power plants, medical equipment, etc. Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated the industry workers on their professional holiday and stressed that despite all the difficulties, this year there has been a dynamic growth in the indicators of the enterprises. During the first seven months of 2021, products worth RUB 408 billion were shipped, which is 1.5 times higher than in 2019. Positive changes are shown both by large companies and midsize enterprises in small towns. The Tatarstan President also expressed gratitude to long-service workers of the sector, noting that many companies employ several generations of working families. Then, President Minnikhanov presented a number of Tatarstan awards for great contribution to the development of the mechanical engineering sector.

Minister Karimov met with students of KNRTU-KHTI

Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov held an open meeting with students of the Kazan National Research Technological University. During the event, Minister Karimov delivered a comprehensive speech on the topic “Tatarstan’s Manufacturing Industry as the Main Driver of Regional Economic Development”, during which he outlined the main achievements of industrial sectors in Tatarstan and spoke about the main achievements and trends in the republic’s manufacturing industry development. In his welcome address he pointed out that the main source of labour productivity is the transition to Industry 4.0, the industrial revolution based on massive implementation of information technologies. Today, a marking system is applied in production facilities that allows one to track the location of a product. There are examples of smart factories where machines communicate with each other via the internet and produce personalised products without human intervention.
