Today, a video conference was held on the implementation of the Resolution by the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers No. 208 of March 19, 2020 “On Measures to Prevent the Spread of New Coronavirus Infection in Tatarstan" (as amended on September 18, 2020) at trade enterprises, catering facilities, the sphere of services, as well as vaccination of trade personnel on the territory of Tatarstan.
The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner and attended by heads of Tatarstan municipal executive committees, top executives of shopping malls, retail chains, and public catering facilities.
The restrictive measures introduced in connection with the spread of COVID-19 had a detrimental effect on the commercial activities in the republic. Due to implementation of measures to combat the coronavirus pandemic in Tatarstan, restrictions were imposed on stores selling non-foods, operation of shopping centres was prohibited, which resulted in a retail turnover decrease in January-August 2020 down to 92.6 % from the same period last year. Restrictions in the services sector led to a decrease in retail turnover in January-August 2020 down to 84.6% y-o-y.
At the meeting, a number of decisions were made to identify non-compliance with facemask regulations and epidemiological rules at trade enterprises, public catering facilities, and services sector, including trade personnel vaccination.
