Today in the course of his visit, Deputy Prime Minister of Russian Federation Yuri Borisov, together with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, visited the Kazan CHPP-2 (branch of Tatenergo Joint Stock Company), and the Gorbunov Kazan Aircraft Plant (Branch of Tupolev Corporation).
Kazan CHPP-2 is a universal fuel station: it is the only pulverised coal station in Tatenergo.
It provides fuel and electricity to the northern district of the city and is located in the very centre of electric and thermal loads. The largest consumers of the CHPP include the Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Production Association, the Kazan Helicopters, the Tasma Research and Production Enterprise, the Kazan Silicate Wall Materials Plant, and Kazanorgsintez.
In 2019, Kazan CHPP-2 generated 2,132.5 million kWh of electricity, which constitutes 12.7 percent of the Tatenergo’s total generation. Heat energy supply was 1,851,100 Gcal, or 19.6 percent of the Tatenergo output.
