World Quality Day is celebrated in many countries where quality issues are a priority. For the first time, the world community celebrated this day in 1989, and six years later (1995) the European Organisation for Quality announced that the European Quality Week will be held in November during the week that includes the second Thursday of the month.
In many countries worldwide, quality is one of the primary problems in the economy. It is the key to success in the development of each enterprise. This concept is closely related to the quality of life, which includes the environment, physical and emotional well-being of a person. In order to attract attention to this problem, the international holiday was established.
The main objective of the World Quality Day is to increase the importance of high quality services and products represented on the world market. The first criterion which the goods should meet is safety for people and the environment, the second one is that they should comply with stated standards, requirements and expectations of consumers. The quality of products, goods, education, services – all this is the quality of life, the psychological comfort of a person.
Each year, international conferences and round tables are held in Tatarstan within the framework of Quality Days to discuss issues of quality management and technical regulations. The events are attended by representatives of organisations, Russia’s leading professionals in the field of quality, scholars, and foreign experts.
