23 October 2019, Wednesday

On October 19, the RusAzeriSpirits Russian-Azerbaijani plant was opened in the city of Qusar (Azerbaijan). This is the first international production site of Tatspirtprom. The project is implemented jointly with the Carcıoglu Group, the Azerbaijani’s largest company specialising in the imports of beverages and food products and a leader in the alcohol distribution.

The plant launch ceremony was attended by Director General of Tatspirtprom Irek Minnakhmetov, Director of Carcıoglu Group Elchin Jarchiev, representatives of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani Government.

The project includes not only the production of alcohol, but also the sale of products in Azerbaijan. The initial investment of the two partners amounted to $2 million. In the first two years of its operation, an additional $3 million is planned to be invested. Tatspirtprom expects to raise the capacity of the new plant up to 1 million decalitres a year, which will allow RusAzeriSpirits to produce 20% of the annual vodka consumption in Azerbaijan.

Cooperation between the Tatarstan and Azerbaijan companies began last year. Since October 2018, Tatspirtprom bottled its products at the facilities of the Azeri plant. In order to expand distribution, Tatspirtprom concluded an exclusive right agreement with Carcıoglu Group to sell alcohol products of Tatarstan in Azerbaijan.
