The leading global manufacturer in the woodworking industry – the Turkey-headquartered Kastamonu – celebrates its fifth anniversary in Russia. Since its plant was established in Tatarstan, the company invested US$ 771.8 million in the region.

The Kastamonu plant for the production of MDF, HDF, and laminated flooring opened in Yelabuga in 2014. Over five years, the plant’s production capacity has reached 1.05 million cubic metres of MDF boards and 35 million square metres of laminate per year. The company is a leader in the Russia’s market of flooring in the laminate segment with a share of 20%. Owing to the opened plant, 930 jobs were created directly in the plant, as well as 2,500 jobs in related areas and service industries such as logging, transport, and furniture.

Over the past five years, the company has significantly expanded its product line. The number of decors for laminate flooring increased from 45 in 2014 to 200 in 2019, and the number of decors for Evogloss MDF panels, which were launched in 2015, increased from 34 to 73. In addition, a new collection of Acrylic MDF panels appeared, which is currently represented by 14 decors.
