27 September 2019, Friday

A delegation from China visited the Kazan Helicopters of the Russian Helicopters Holding (part of the Rostec Corporation). The event took place during a working visit by Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Li Zhanshu to Tatarstan as part of his official visit to Russia. The delegation was accompanied by Chairman of the State Council of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin.

The guests took a tour of the unit assembly department to see how the helicopters of the Mi-8/17, Mi-38 family and Ansat are being built. The delegation also visited the final assembly of helicopters. In addition, the company’s flight test facility launched a flight presentation of the Ansat helicopter, which participated in the demonstration tour of the Russian Helicopters Holding in the Southeast Asia countries.

The cooperation of the Kazan Helicopters with PRC began in the 1950s. Over the years, China acquired 186 medium-lift helicopters, including Mi-4, Mi-8, Mi-17, and Mi-17V-5. In addition, Mi-4 under the name of “Harbin Z-5” was produced under license from 1958 to 1979 at the Chinese plant No. 122, where a total of 545 helicopters were built. The full-scale production of these rotorcrafts was organised with the participation of experts from the Kazan Helicopters.

In autumn of 2018, the Russian Helicopters Holding signed a contract to supply 20 Ansat helicopters in the interests of the China Association of Disaster Medicine.
