On June 14, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev arrived in Kazan with a two-day working visit.
On June 15, he inspected the exhibition of Tatarstan’s industrial enterprises in the Kremlin, jointly with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.
The guest saw the products of the Zelenodolsk Shipyard, KAMAZ, Ford Sollers, Kazan Helicopters, Eniks, RariTEK, and Simonov Experimental Design Bureau.
As it was mentioned, over 20 civil and military rotorcrafts of the Kazan Helicopters were delivered to Kazakhstan during the cooperation period. “We have great prospects for cooperation in the mechanical engineering sector, as well as in the field of processing hydrocarbon raw materials”, the Tatarstan President noted.
The Kazakhstan President sees great potential in the development of trade and economic relations. Today, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Tatarstan is $700 million. Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed confidence that this amount can be brought to $1 billion. Among the promising areas of cooperation, the Kazakhstan President also noted agriculture, medicine, and humanitarian cooperation.
