On January 15 at 16:34, due to a damage to the 110-kV Centre-East high-voltage cable line, there was a de-energization of the 110-kV Sovetskaya and 110-kV Gorki substations, which resulted in disconnecting consumers in the Privolzhsky, Vakhitovsky and Sovetsky districts of the city of Kazan.
On the Grid Company premises, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov held an emergency meeting of the Headquarters for Ensuring Power Supply Reliability in Tatarstan.
Owing to well-concerted efforts of the personnel at the Kazan Electricity Grids, the electricity supply to Kazan consumers was completely restored at 19:27. The power outage lasted 2 hours 53 minutes.
The final cause of damage to the cable lines will be determined after investigating the accident.
