Regional competition of WorldSkills Russia started in Kazan

Today, the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre hosted the opening ceremony of the Regional Skills Competition under WorldSkills standards. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov addressed the event participants and organisers with a welcoming speech.

Later, an official tour of 11 competition venues took place, with participation of First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Tatarstan Andrei Pominov and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Almaz Khusainov.

In total, the regional competition will be held on 91 skills with 814 contestants and 764 experts; 131 contestants and 73 experts will take part in it under WorldSkills Junior standards. This regional competition is expected to become the largest event in the WorldSkills history of Tatarstan.

Competitions on 18 skills will be held at the main venue of the Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Centre between November 27 and 29. In addition, the competitions will be held at the Kazan Aviation Technical College, the Kazan Cooperative Institute, the Kazan National Research Technological University, the Kazan College of Technology and Design, the TTC - Toyota Centre Kazan, NPF BETAR, the Quantorium Children’s Technology Park, and the IT Park.
