Today, the Korston Hotel &Mall in Kazan saw ceremonial events dedicated to the 60th anniversary of NPO GIPO. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, and many others came to congratulate the company’s staff.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the employees of the NGO GIPO for their fruitful work for the benefit of Tatarstan and Russia in general, as well as for a worthy contribution to the development of domestic optoelectronic industry. He also said that an agreement was signed today between the Government of Tatarstan and Schwabe on cooperation in developing scientific, technology, industrial, and intellectual potential of production, scientific, and educational organisations located in Tatarstan.
The Scientific and Production Association “State Institute of Applied Optics” (NPO GIPO) is a federal-level research and production centre that carries out comprehensive studies of fundamental, exploratory, and applied nature, as well as the development and production of advanced optoelectronic systems.
The core activities of the association include thermal imaging devices, optoelectronic channels for various purposes, research of optical characteristics of objects and backgrounds, metrological support of IR equipment, optical coatings, diffraction and aspherical optics, and IR lenses.
