Today, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the launching ceremony of the Drylock Technology (Belgium) plant for sanitary and hygienic products in the SEZ Alabuga. The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov. According to company’s CEO Bart Van Malderen, investment in the project amounted to over EUR 40 million. The total production capacity should be 3 to 3.5 billion diapers. As Mr. Malderen pointed out, the project can pay off in 5 years.
The Tatarstan President thanked the company’s CEO for choosing the SEZ Alabuga as a site for placing its production facilities.
It should be noted that this is not the first plant in Russia. Such production facilities are located already in Nizhny Novgorod. By putting the plant into service in the SEZ Alabuga, investors plan to meet the region's need for sanitary and hygienic products. The company is engaged in the production of absorbent underwear and hygiene products for women, children and low-mobility groups, such as diapers, draw sheets and special products for people with urological diseases.
The company became a resident of the SEZ in 2013; the construction of the plant was frozen in 2014. In 2015, the investor decided to continue the project.
