On December 4, 2019, the 19th international exhibition of equipment, devices and tools for machine-building, metal-working and welding industries “Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Welding. Kazan” opened at the Kazan Expo IEC.
The Exhibition is organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, the Stankoinstrument Association of Machine Tool Manufacturers, and the Kazanskaya Yarmarka with the support from Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov. The opening ceremony was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Minister of Industry and Technology of Turkey Mustafa Varank, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Dmitry Ovsyannikov, and other officials.
This year, more than 200 companies from Russian regions and foreign countries are taking part in the exhibition. Enterprises from Tatarstan, the Altai Territory, Novosibirsk Region, the Republic of Crimea, Moscow, St. Petersburg, and other regions will present their products. Foreign exhibitors include companies from Belarus, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland.
During the opening ceremony, the Turkish-headquartered TTAF Elektronik and the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency signed a cooperation agreement.
Alongside with the exhibition’s opening, the IEC site hosted an opening ceremony for the 3rd stage of the Tatarstan’s regional Young Professionals competition.
The exhibition will run until December 6th.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted a regular meeting of the Tatarstan Headquarters for Ensuring Power Supply Security. The main issues on the agenda are the preparations of electric power enterprises for the heating season of 2019-2020 and provision of the power supply to consumers in the Urussu energy district.
Deputy Minister Almaz Khusainov made a report on the progress and approval of the terms of reference for elaborating a roadmap and a programme for the electric power sector development in Tatarstan in 2020-2025.
At the end of the meeting, the participants discussed the plan of the main activities in the regional Headquarters for 2020.
The “Virtual Museum of Tatenergosbyt” project was named among the winners of the MediaLeader’2019 international corporate media contest in the category of The Best Digital Publication for Customers.
The award ceremony took place on November 29 in Moscow during the international applied research conference entitled “Press Service’2019: New PR Technologies”.
The Virtual Museum section at the official website of Tatenergosbyt is devoted to the development of the company and the energy sector of Tatarstan in general. This is a story of the achievements and values of the enterprise embodied in illustrations, videos, autobiographies, and photos.
Starting from the special tab of Company Development History at the official website, one can explore the milestones of the energy system formation in Tatarstan and the progress of Tatenergosbyt from the 1930s to the present day.
Within the framework of the project, meetings with long-service employees are organised, whose stories are placed in the form of essays on the virtual museum pages. Evidence of personal contribution to the development and growth of Tatenergosbyt is revealed in interviews with former company executives.

From December 4 to 6, the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre will host the 19th International Specialised Exhibition titled “Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Welding. Kazan”, which is a key event in the field of materials processing technology and engineering, making a significant contribution to the development of manufacturing industry in Tatarstan and the Volga Region.
The Exhibition is organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, the Stankoinstrument Russian Association of Machine Tool Manufacturers, the Kazan City Administration, and the Kazanskaya Yarmarka. The events are supported by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
In 2019, the Exhibition will bring together more than 180 enterprises from Russia and around the world that will demonstrate new generation of smart machine systems, advanced metal cutting tools, instrumentation, tooling and accessories, innovative design developments, welding equipment, and much more.
Traditionally, alongside with the Exhibition, it is also scheduled to hold the Coordination Council of Tatarstan Machine-Building Enterprises, International Science and Technology Conference dedicated to the discussion of manufacturing industry development issues, Russian Technology and Equipment for Tatarstan Machine-Building Sector conference from the Stankoinstrument Association, Young Professionals of Tatarstan contest in 5 skills, etc.

A meeting of the interagency working group on labour protection and safety at industrial and trade enterprises was held at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister Almaz Khusainov. The working group included representatives of the Tatarstan Ministry of Labour, the Tatarstan Ministry of Health, the State Labour Inspectorate of Tatarstan, trade unions and other concerned organisations of the republic.
At the meeting, the results of occupational injuries for 10 months of the current year were announced. The main causes of injuries at work are neglect of the safety of the workers themselves, failure to properly monitor compliance by workers with labour safety instructions, poor organisation of work, operation of faulty machinery and equipment, violation of the production processes, violation of traffic rules, and employees not using personal protective equipment.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Khusainov said: “We need to reconsider approaches in matters of industrial safety, staff motivation, and local production culture. This is a complex issue”.
All participants to the meeting noted the need to strengthen work on monitoring the situation of labour protection, strict observance of safety measures by employees.
In November, KAMAZ won second place in the prestigious category “Big Business: High-Tech Exporter of the Year” as part of the Exporter of the Year 2019 Award.
In total, more than 1600 applications from all federal districts were submitted for the Exporter of the Year Award established by the Russian Federation Government. Exporters claimed victory in such categories as “Exporter of the Year in Manufacturing Industry”, “High-Tech Exporter of the Year”, “Exporter of the Year in Agriculture”, “Exporter of the Year in Services”, “New Geography” and “Breakthrough of the Year”. More than 70% of participants are SMEs.
KAMAZ, world-famous for its trucks and automotive components, took silver in the big business hi-tech exporter category. The company, whose products are shipped to over 50 countries, recorded new exported products and the receipt of five European certificates of approval.
Winners of the Award will be granted various bonuses from the Russian Export Centre. Among them are personal support of negotiations with foreign partners in foreign markets; bonus tariff for servicing an export contract; registration at a foreign marketplace; training under the acceleration programme based on the Export School in Moscow, as well as a wide range of information support measures for exporters.

The results of the Russian Government Quality Award 2019 were summed up today. Three enterprises from Tatarstan won the prizes for achieving significant results in the field of quality of products and services, as well as for implementing highly-effective methods of quality management. This is the largest number of winners from one region this year. In total, 12 enterprises from Moscow, Kemerovo, Grozny, and Saratov, as well as from the regions of Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Samara, Ulyanovsk and the Republic of Crimea, were presented the Government Quality Award in 2019.
The winners in the category of organisations with more than 1000 employees were KAMAZ (Naberezhnye Chelny) and the Zelenodolsk Shipyard (Zelenodolsk).
In the category of organisations with no more than 250 employees, the prize was awarded to the Manpower Training Centre of Tatneft (Almetyevsk).

Today, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a regular meeting of the Commission on Observance of Requirements to Professional Conduct of Public Civil Servants and Resolving of Conflicts of Interests.
The meeting examined information on socio-economic monitoring, implementation of anti-corruption measures in the first half of this year, and other issues. In conclusion, the Commission considered the issues of notifying civil servants about the performance of other paid work.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Almaz Khusainov held a meeting with the participants to the Republic’s Forum of Compatriots titled “The Discovery of Talents” for young professionals and natives of Tatarstan, currently residing abroad.
The Forum is held annually by the Kazan Open University of Talents. This year, it was attended by 50 young professionals from Russian regions (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, and others), as well as from foreign countries (Turkey, USA, Germany). This year’s topic of the Forum is “Project Solutions of Young Professionals for Socio-Economic Tasks of Tatarstan”.
Participants are formed into groups in accordance with their professional interests and fields of study, make visits to relevant ministries and agencies, and create projects that will be supported by the University of Talents throughout the year.
The meeting at the Ministry was visited by young professionals from Moscow, Astrakhan, Copenhagen (Denmark) and Munich (Germany). The participants are implementing projects in the fields of lean manufacturing and business process digitalisation for enterprises in Tatarstan.
Deputy Minister Khusainov talked about the commercial and industrial potential of the republic, after which young people were able to ask questions of interest within the framework of their projects.
The POZIS company (part of the Techmash concern of the Rostec Corporation) was visited by a Novikombank delegation headed by Chairman of its Management Board Yelena Georgieva. Within the framework of their visit, the guests made a tour of the special engineering centre and refrigerator production facilities. Director General of POZIS Radik Khasanov personally presented the production sites to the guests and showed them the exhibition samples of household and medical refrigerators.
At the meeting, the parties discussed further cooperation in order to implement the plant’s business diversification projects aimed at strengthening technology progress. In particular, the production of large household appliances, medical refrigerators, unique tooling, ultra-precision engineering equipment, test benches, etc.
The Bank takes part in funding the investment project of POZIS for developing the production of household and medical refrigeration equipment based on the introduction of latest technologies. The total funding amounted to more than RUB 600 million. As part of this project, the company began construction of a logistics centre using advanced technologies for the shipment, storage, and transportation of household appliances. The total capacity of the warehouse complex will be 35,000 household appliances.
