Today in the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Artyukhov.

Dmitry Artyukhov signed the Kazan Kremlin’s Book of Honoured Guests. Then the parties discussed interregional cooperation and strengthening of the established relations between Tatarstan and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. President Minnikhanov talked briefly about the projects being implemented in the republic’s manufacturing industry. He said that the republic was resuming production of water Meteors at the Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipyard. The upgrading of Mi-8 helicopters at the Kazan Helicopters is also underway.

The key topic of the meeting was cooperation on economic issues. Another promising area of cooperation is the creation of infrastructure for maintenance of NGV vehicles available in the Autonomous Okrug.

Heads of ministries and agencies of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra, and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) are in Kazan these days for advanced training at the Higher School of State and Municipal Management (Kazan Federal University). The  training under the programme entitled “Successful Socio-Economic Development Practices and Public Administration Technologies of Tatarstan” is taking place on June 8 to 10.

Today, the Days of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in the Republic of Tatarstan have started at the site in front of the Palace of Farmers. The main objectives of the events are the presentation of investment, innovation, and tourism potential of Sakha (Yakutia), display and sales of the products made by manufacturers of the Made in Yakutia brand, development of business and scientific relations.

The exhibition was viewed by First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Tatarstan Nail Zalakov and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan German Lerner.

Within the framework of the Days of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in the Republic of Tatarstan, which will be held in Kazan on 7-11 June, Yakut producers will meet with trade representatives of the Bakhetle-1, Edelweiss, and Arysh Mae chains on the supply of goods to the counters of the Kazan retail networks.

Nefis Cosmetics, Russia’s largest household chemical manufacturer, summarised its results for Q1 2021, with revenues from finished product sales up 7% to RUB 4.3 billion.

In the first three months of the current year, Nefis Cosmetics produced consumer goods worth RUB 4.2 billion, 7% more than in January-March last year.

The company started to produce dishwashing detergents by 15% more than in the same period last year. Currently, Nefis Cosmetics is completing a project to increase the output of liquid detergents by a factor of two. It is worth mentioning that in April this year, Nefis Cosmetics for the first time became the market leader in this category, surpassing its multinational competitors (according to the company’s information).

The company was also successful in the production of laundry gels; this product line increased by 75% compared to the data for Q1 2020.

Sales in these segments also showed steady growth. Thus, laundry gels were sold by 56% more, as well as dishwashing detergent sales increased by 13% compared to the same period last year.

The labour productivity of Nefis Cosmetics increased by 7%. The average monthly salary has increased by 10%.

Today, the company employs 2,500 people.

Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin had a meeting today with representatives of the Samruk-Kazyna Sovereign Wealth Fund (Kazakhstan). The meeting took place as part of the events of the SPIEF’2021.

Aleksey Pesoshin said that recently the agenda of Tatarstan-Kazakhstan interaction has been very rich. 

Chairman of Samruk-Kazyna Almasadam Satkaliev, also noted that joint projects with Tatarstan were developing successfully.

Then the parties discussed the road maps of several investment projects being implemented by Tatarstan in Kazakhstan. In particular, they touched a project on establishment of tyre production by a joint venture of TATNEFT and Allure Group. Two months ago the construction of this new production facility was started in Sarani city of Karaganda District with Askar Mamin, Prime-Minister of Kazakhstan.

Nail Maganov, Director General of TATNEFT, briefly spoke about the steps in the implementation of this project. The production capacity will be 3 million passenger car tyres and 500,000 truck tyres. A total of 1,116 new jobs will be created. It is expected that the products will be sold not only in the Republic of Kazakhstan, but also to the Russian Federation and Central Asian countries.

Today, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov had a meeting with Principal of Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University Andrey Rudsky.

The sides discussed promising issues of interaction between science and industry, as well as training personnel for the digital economy.

The Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University is the largest technical university in the country with historically strong scientific schools, which has undeniable results and achievements in scientific, educational, and innovation activities.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, organised by the Roscongress Foundation, takes place on June 2-5 and brings together representatives of business community to discuss key economic issues. The topic of the forum this year is “Together Again: Economy of New Reality”.

Sollers Ford reports May 2021 sales: 1,540 new Ford Transit vehicles were sold in Russia, up 111% on the year before. A total of 6,535 vehicles have been sold since the beginning of the year, a 95% improvement on the same period in 2020.

Ford Transit sales continue to show rapid growth with 1,540 vehicles sold in May 2021, the best result of May sales, outperforming previous years by a factor of 2. Traditionally, Ford Transit all-metal van was the most popular vehicle on the market, it accounted for 70% of sales.

Today, Ford Transit vehicles are widely used throughout Russia to deliver mail and goods, they work in ambulance service, take children to schools, provide city and long-distance transportation and efficiently solve tasks of many SMEs. Ford Transit is in demand in all areas of business, thanks to its quality, reliability, ease of maintenance and low cost of ownership, and the cost of maintenance of the vehicle is one of the lowest in the segment.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov had a meeting today with a delegation from the Kingdom of Bahrain at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The meeting was attended by Khalid Humaidan, Chief Executive at the Bahrain Economic Development Board, Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive Officer at Mumtalakat (Bahrain's sovereign wealth fund), and Eman Ahmed Hassan Al-Doseri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of Bahrain.

Tatarstan was represented by Timur Samatov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, and Talia Minullina, Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency.

During the talks, the parties discussed the most topical issues of bilateral cooperation in medicine, mechanical engineering, agriculture, advocating further diversification of mutually beneficial trade and economic partnership.

Today, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin invited Gilles Beschoor Plug, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Netherlands to Russia, to attend the KazanSummit international economic forum. Aleksey Pesoshin and Gilles Plug have met on the sidelines of the SPIEF’2021.

During the meeting, Aleksey Pesoshin thanked the Embassy of the Netherlands for their interest in Tatarstan and commitment to cooperation. He pointed out that delegations of Tatarstan had visited the Netherlands several times in different years. Productive meetings and round table discussions have been held. Among them, Tatarstan experts visited a number of health care facilities, the Centre for Testing of Smart Traffic Solutions, and industrial enterprises.

Promising areas for cooperation include medicine and supplies of medical equipment and machinery for healthcare facilities, agribusiness and agricultural production, innovations, energy, etc.

In turn, Ambassador Plug said that he took up his post about three months ago and that he was eager to learn about the regions of Russia and their socioeconomic development. According to him, Tatarstan is one of priority regions for strengthening and continuing cooperation. Given the foundations already laid in our relations, our cooperation can be broader, said the Ambassador of the Netherlands.

Tatarstan’s Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin had a meeting today with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to the Russian Federation Alexander Ben Zvi.

The meeting took place within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. Prime Minister Pesoshin leads the delegation of Tatarstan at SPIEF-2021.

Aleksey Pesoshin briefly spoke about the socio-economic development of the region and its promising projects in industry and economy.

Prime Minister Pesoshin also invited the participants of the meeting, the representatives of the Embassy of Israel in Russia, and members of the Israeli-Russia Business Council to attend the KazanSummit (to be held in Kazan on July 28-30, 2021) and the Kazan Digital Week (September 2021).

During the meeting, the Prime Minister of Tatarstan and the Ambassador of Israel to Russia discussed the issues of developing relations in the sphere of education, increasing the number of students from Israel studying at Tatarstan’s higher educational establishments.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Talia Minullina, and Chairman of Israeli-Russian Business Council Teimuraz Khikhinashvili.

Today, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Aleksey Pesoshin has arrived in St. Petersburg on a working visit. The main purpose of his trip is to participate in the SPIEF’2021.

At the forum, Tatarstan is represented by a delegation headed by Aleksey Pesoshin. The delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Roman Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Albert Karimov, Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Talia Minullina, and representatives of republic’s ministries and agencies. In addition, the delegation includes representatives of special economic zones Alabuga and Innopolis, as well as a number of the republic’s enterprises and business associations.

Prime Minister Pesoshin is expected to hold a number of meetings and talks with ambassadors of some countries, as well as with heads of Russian regions. During SPIEF’2021, it is planned to sign agreements of intent between the Government of Tatarstan and a number of organisations.

The programme of the Head of the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers includes a participation in the presentation of the Investment Climate National Rating in the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation.
