The Russian Helicopters handed over to the customer two Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters manufactured by the Kazan Helicopters under the contract with Skol Airlines. The contract for aircraft delivery was signed in late December 2016; the helicopters were assembled at the Kazan Helicopters in 6 months’ time.

New aircraft will be used in Surgut for both passenger and cargo transportation. The Mi-8MTV-1 multipurpose transport helicopter has unique performance and operational characteristics. The helicopter can be used in almost all climatic zones. The design and the equipment of the Mi-8MTV-1 helicopter allow operations with autonomous deployment from unprepared ground areas. The helicopter can be equipped with an external load sling system for transporting oversize cargo.

Mi-8MTV-1 is a medium helicopter with improved performance characteristics, based on the Mi-8T. The new modification fundamentally differs from its predecessor with a more powerful power plant package, which comprises two gas turbine engines TV3-117VM and a main gearbox VR-14. Each engine is rated at 2200 hp. Its maximum external load is up to 4 tonnes and depends on flight range, altitude of landing pads above sea level, air temperature, and other factors.

On June 19, 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan, jointly with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, held a Polymer Day in the traditional format of a communicative platform. The event dealt with a number of issues related to the expansion of the branded assortment of plastics for the production of automotive components, their testing, and problems of localising polymer products for automakers.

The participants to the event showed great interest in the opening of the Exotest Rus laboratory for testing plastics, and expressed their interest in creating the Centre for Innovative Technologies in Production of Polymer Goods by Haitian International.

The discussions were also attended by representatives of Nizhnekamskneftekhim, Tatkhimplast, Avtokomponent, A. Schulman, Ikar Ltd and others, leading automakers such as KAMAZ, Avtovaz-Renault-Nissan Alliance, JV Ford Sollers, UAZ, GAZ Group, and representatives of scientific institutions.

At the end of the Polymer Day, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov and Director General of the Specialised Organisation for the Polymer Cluster of Automotive Components Albert Suleymanov signed an agreement on establishing an industrial cluster for polymer automotive components in the Republic of Tatarstan.

At the Kazan TETs-3, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the launch of the most high-powered gas turbine unit in the Russian Federation. The event was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov.

A new gas turbine unit (GTU) at the Kazan TETs-3, a branch of TGK-16, was built within the plant’s comprehensive upgrading programme. The gas-turbine unit was built on the basis of the world’s largest and most efficient gas turbine (9HA.01) rated at 405.6 MW; its manufacturer is the US-headquartered General Electric Co. The Kazan TETs-3 is the second power plant in the world where a GTU with this type of turbine was ever put into commercial operation.

“The construction of the new unit is a unique project that will allow us to significantly improve economic parameters and become more competitive in the electricity market. It is no secret that now the wholesale electricity market has certain limitations. Due to its efforts, TGK-16 is an energy-efficient facility even now, while the launch of this GTU will be a major breakthrough,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

Moreover, the upgrading of the Kazan TETs-3 will help improve the plant's efficiency and meet the growing demand for heat and electricity from residents and industrial enterprises of the city.

A new station to charge electric vehicles was opened at Petrol Station No. 3 in the Almetyevsk Branch of the Tatneft-AZS Centre.

The Terra 53 multi-standard fast charging station allows charging a 24-kWh battery from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes. Batteries are charged using a CHAdeMo fast-charging method with a direct current of up to 125 A at a voltage of up to 550V. The price of this service is RUB 10 per minute.

This is the second electric vehicle charging station in Tatarstan, opened by Tatneft-AZS Centre. The first one is operating in the Technopolis Himgrad in Kazan. The ceremony of its opening in May 2016 was attended by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Director General of Tatneft Nail Maganov.

From June 16 to 22, Kazan is hosting the All-Russian Fish Week Gastronomic Festival.

During this week, the public catering establishments listed below will have a special fish menu for visitors. We invite our city’s residents and guests to taste local fish dishes!

Today, the site of the KNITU-KAI German-Russian Institute of New Technologies saw a meeting under the chairmanship of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on the topic “Innovative Development of Enterprises as a Basis for Improving the Competitiveness of the Economy in the Republic of Tatarstan”.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, representatives of the Institute of Advanced Production Technologies, the Engineering Centre of the St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Experimental Physics, heads of industrial enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan, republic’s agencies and organisations, and educational institutions.

Prior to the meeting, the Made in Tatarstan portal was presented to the participants in the lobby of the KNITU-KAI. The website (Madeintatarstan.com) created by the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade is an informational Internet portal about the industrial potential and key enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan. The project’s central element is a sector-wise guide to enterprises. At the moment, the website presents 26 branches of 8 industries. The mission of the project is the presentation of industrial potential in Tatarstan and promotion of products manufactured by Tatarstan’s companies in foreign markets.

One of the forms in territorial development of the manufacturing industry and creation of new growth points are clusters. Clusters are the most successful approach that best align the interests of the government and the business sector. The government would enjoy the most efficient use of resources, both raw and human, and an opportunity of establishing innovation centres in certain spots. In turn, large-capacity chemical businesses that form the basis for these clusters and smaller companies engaged in polymer processing would make use of the synergy effect, improved infrastructure, and more advanced logistics chain.

To this end, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade signed an agreement on 16 June 2017 concerning the participation in the industrial activities of a polymer cluster for automotive components composed of the following enterprises: Betar, Tehnotron, Tatneft-Presscomposite, Saturn, DiEv, R-plastic ROSTAR, KhitonPlast2, KNITU-KHTI, and the Regional Centre for Chemical Technology Engineering.

Within the Polymer Day on 19 June 2017, an agreement is expected to be signed between the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Specialised Organisation of Polymer Cluster for Automotive Components on establishing an industrial cluster for polymer automotive components in the Republic of Tatarstan.
