The Kazan Helicopters of the Russian Helicopters Holding (part of the Rostec Corporation) summed up the results of the professional skill contest among young people for the “Best in Profession” title. A total of 32 employees received their awards.
Any Kazan Helicopters employee could try his hand in 7 skills, such as Aircraft Assembly, Electrical Installations, Process Engineer, Labour Protection, Helicopter Equipment Installations, Team Production, and Mechanical Engineering CAD.
Experts were participants in the National Competition of High-Tech Cross-Industry Skills. When developing competitive tasks for company’s contests, due account was taken of WorldSkills standards; Kazan Helicopters is constantly improving the competition, adapting it to international standards.
The company traditionally participates in many events aimed at improving the level of training, popularising blue-collar and white-collar jobs. The plant’s employees demonstrated a high level of training at the WorldSkills Kazan 2019: a team of 8 participants and 1 expert won the competition in the Lifecycle Management skills.

On November 23, the Kazan College for Information Technology and Communications hosted the closing ceremony of the Tatarstan’s regional Young Professionals competition (WorldSkills Russia) for 2019-2020 competition cycle.
Awards were presented to more than 65 winners who took prizes in 24 skills, with 7 skills assigned to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan.
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister Almaz Khusainov. He congratulated all the winners on reaching the finals of the regional competition and on the opportunity of their further participation in the National WorldSkills Russia Competition.
“Each competition is not just a chance to show your skills and try your hand, but also a good opportunity to overcome the next stage in your professional development. It is very important for the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade to support you and the WorldSkills movement”, Almaz Khusainov said.
In the final stage (December 4-6, 2019) of the competition cycle, 9 skills will be presented during the Mechanical Engineering. Metalworking. Kazan’2019 International Exhibition at two sites, the Interregional Competence Centre at the Kazan College for Information Technology and Communications and the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre.
The regional Young Professionals competition (WorldSkills Russia) of Tatarstan in Electronics skills (2019/2020 competition cycle) was deployed on the premises of the industrial site of the Kazan Radio-Mechanical College. The competition was attended by 9 strongest representatives from vocational education institutions, such as the Kazan Radio-Mechanical College, the Kazan Power Engineering College, the Engineering Lyceum of KNRTU-KAI. A participant from another region, the Chelyabinsk Radio Technical College, also came to try his hand.
The site was prepared in accordance with high requirements and standards. The competitors worked with the latest equipment; on the first day they completed the tasks of Module A1 “Designing a Hardware Prototype/Circuit Design” and Module A2 “Designing a Printed Circuit Board”.
The contestants will also proceed to implement Module A3 of the competition task, which includes the manufacture and assembly of a printed circuit board in accordance with the IPC standard, and troubleshooting, repairs, and measurement of electronic devices.
As part of the open regional Young Professionals competition, career guidance and business events are also held on the college premises, such as displays, educational and methodological meetings, and master classes.

On November 13, the Kazan Expo IEC hosted the opening ceremony of the regional professional excellence competition based on WorldSkills Young Professionals standards in 2019/2020 competition cycle, with the participation of representatives of relevant ministries and agencies.
This year, the regional competition in Tatarstan is held from November 13 to December 7 for 96 skills in the age category from 16 to 22 years, as well as 66 WorldSkills Juniors skills for competitors under the age of 16. In total, over 2,300 competitors and experts will take part in the events to be held at 43 venues in 11 cities and villages of the republic: in Bugulma, Buinsk, Yelabuga, Zelenodolsk, Kazan, Leninogorsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Sarmanovo, Tetyushi, and Innopolis.
The employees of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan took part in the opening ceremonies of the regional professional competition in the skills assigned to the Ministry based on the WorldSkills standards in 2019/2020 competition cycle.
Following the results of the regional competition, the best competitors will compose the expanded WorldSkills team of Tatarstan in order to represent the republic in the semi-finals and the finals of the 7th National Young Professionals Competition (WorldSkills Russia) to be held in 2020 in Novokuznetsk.
Experts of the Kazan Helicopters (Russian Helicopters holding), as part of the Rostec Corporation team, won silver medals at the 6th National Competition of High-Tech Cross-Industry Skills 2019. Competitions were held in Yekaterinburg from October 28 to November 1.
A total of 21 Kazan Helicopters employees took part in the Competition in three skills, winning silver medals in two of them, in Composites Technology and Life Cycle Management skills.
Before the national competition, participants and experts included in the main team of the Rostec Corporation underwent training as part of the Rostec Academy team-training event, which took place in September in the Moscow Region. The programme included educational blocks on informed leadership, effective interaction, and stress resistance, as well as training on work standards and technologies for achieving success at the WorldSkills competitions.
In total, Rostec team members won 39 medals, of which 15 golds, 11 silvers and 10 bronzes, in the main standings of the 6th National Competition of High-Tech Cross-Industry Skills 2019. Rostec experts received another 3 awards following the results of the competitions in the Eurasian standings of the WorldSkills Hi-Tech 2019.
