On the second day of their visit to China, the Tatarstan delegation studied the activities and technology of Haier Group’s digital production.
Minister Karimov visited the corporation’s industrial park and made tours of the smart factory of air conditioners and a washing machine factory. Haier’s smart factories are a package of automated digital modules that allows their personnel to directly contact the end users for taking into account all their wishes and requests in the production process.
After visit to the factories, the Minister had a meeting with Vice President of Haier Overseas Electric Appliances Corp. Ltd Mr. Li Pan. Particular attention at the meeting was paid to issues of cooperation between Tatarstan and Haier Group.
During the meeting, the Minister noted the 2016 launch of the Russia’s first factory for the production of refrigerators in Naberezhnye Chelny and this year’s opening of the Haier Rus Industrial Park with the first washing machine factory. The Tatarstan side emphasised that the project to create the Haier Rus Industrial Park will receive comprehensive support during the entire cycle of its implementation.
It is also worth noting that Tatarstan-Chinese cooperation has been developing for more than ten years. In 2018, an action plan on mutual promotion of cooperation was signed between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Shandong Province.
At the end of the day, the delegation from Tatarstan visited the Haier HQ Museum.
The Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov paid a business visit to the People’s Republic of China, Qingdao City (Shandong Province).
During the visit, a meeting was held with Director-General of Foreign Affairs Office in Qingdao Municipal Government, Mr. Mou Jundian. At the meeting, the Minister was accompanied by Trade and Economic Representative of Tatarstan in China Yevgeny Gorshkov.
In particular, the first issue for discussion was the prospects for cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Shandong Province in such sectors as agriculture, shipbuilding and helicopter manufacturing, oil production and oil refining, electric power, investment, and medicine.
The issue of implementing joint projects with China-based Weichai Power was also raised: in September 2018, KAMAZ and Weichai Power Co. Ltd. signed an agreement for the creation of a facility to manufacture industrial diesel and gas engines in Russia with a volume of more than 17 litres and a capacity of 520 to 2000 kW. To date, the project is in its development stage.
Shandong is a province in the East China region. Its administrative centre is the city of Jinan. The largest city and port of the province is Qingdao.
In the 1st half of 2019, the foreign trade turnover between Tatarstan and China amounted to US$ 238 million.
Today, the UNICS Cultural and Sports Centre saw a lecture by Chairman and CEO of Haier Group Zhang Ruimin on new methods for managing present-day production processes using the example of the Haier Corporation.
There were no empty seats in the UNICS concert hall: university professors, students, employees of ministries and agencies, representatives of Tatarstan companies came to gain unique knowledge about the management system introduced by Mr. Zhang Ruimin.
New methods for managing present-day production processes – the RenDanHeYi model – are an integration of employee values with the user values they create. Describing the RenDanHeYi management model, Mr. Zhang Ruimin said that the most important thing in the enterprise’s work is to give maximum freedom to each employee so that they have an opportunity to show their creative abilities. To implement this model, the Haier Corporation has achieved 3 zeros: zero distance from users, zero signatures in process, and zero delay in experience.
Mr. Zhang Ruimin also spoke about the COSMOPlat platform he created. The platform is a vehicle for promoting the Haier ecosystem brand.
At the end of the lecture, he presented a book by Cao Yangfeng “The Haier Model: Reinventing a Multinational Giant in the Network Era”, after which the students were able to ask questions about the specific features of the Haier Corporation and the management system implemented in it.

Haier’s production facilities will include the production of washing machines, TV sets, refrigerators and freezing equipment, electric kitchen equipment, plants for processing sheet metal and making foam plastic parts, and others.
