The ceremonial opening of the ice town by the Kazan Motor-Building Production Association (KMPO), which attracts a large number of visitors, took place today at the Mechanical Engineers Square. In order to feel the New Year’s atmosphere, the event was traditionally visited by company’s employees with their children, residents of the Aviastroitelny District, and guests of Kazan.
The guests of the holiday were congratulated on the upcoming New Year by Director of KMPO’s Labour Relations Department Sergey Zimin. The festive programme was prepared by the team of the Motorostroitel Cultural and Leisure Centre. A meeting with Grandfather Frost and Snow Maiden did not leave indifferent either kids or adults, giving everyone vivid emotions and good mood.
The ice town works every day and is a traditional decoration of the Aviastroitelny District of Kazan.
On the first day of October, the 9th St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPIGF 2019) opened at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre in St. Petersburg.
The event annually becomes the leading platform for discussing current issues in the gas industry. The participants to the Forum are top managers of major oil and gas companies, representatives of country’s innovation centres and design institutions, experts, academics, heads of dedicated universities and R&D establishments.
In the Forum’s exhibition programme, Tatarstan is represented by leading republic’s enterprises of the sector, such as the Kazan Motor-Building Production Association (KMPO), the Aviagaz-Soyuz+, the RariTEK Holding, Kazancompressormash, and KAMAZ.
The central place in the KMPO display is the natural sample of the NK-38ST gas turbine engine, one of the advanced products developed by the company. The display also hosts a virtual reality table demonstrating a 3D compressor station project with a modular gas pumping unit. Visitors can also see the virtual cinema IC.IDO. Using IC.IDO technology, one can plunge into the virtual world of a gas turbine power plant, install and dismantle various units of a power plant drive.

The MAKS 2019 International Aviation and Space Salon was launched today in the city of Zhukovsky (Moscow region). The venue for the event is the Gromov Flight Research Institute.
This major international air show will combine the latest developments in the field of civil and military aviation, promising projects and results of scientific research, demonstrations by test pilots and aerobatic teams from the Aerospace Forces of the Russian Federation and other countries.
The initiative to create a pavilion with regional displays was taken by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. Tatarstan also holds its place at the aerospace salon. The joint stand of the republic features 17 organisations, such as the Gorbunov Kazan Aviation Plant, KMPO, Kazan Helicopters, MVEN Firm, Tulpar Interior Group, Tupolev KNRTU-KAI, Elecon Plant, Lyceum No. 35, and others.
For the republic’s enterprises, participation in MAKS 2019 is an opportunity for networking and expanding business contacts, seeking new partners, demonstrating their own developments and technologies.
