For the first time, two TU-214s manufactured by the Kazan Aviation Plant will fly at the I Opt for the Sky festival. This was announced today at a press conference by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Ildar Mingaleyev.
“This holiday was created specifically for the future generation of our aircraft manufacturers, for all young admirers of skies and flying equipment,” said Deputy Minister Mingaleyev.
According to Head of the Flight Service Department of Aviaprom Dmitry Voloshin, “flight safety and safety of spectators are the most important things for our flight group”.
The festival will also see the flights of rotorcrafts manufactured by the Kazan Helicopters of the Russian Helicopters Holding (part of the Rostec Corporation).
More than 25 aircraft will be involved in demonstration flights, including Ansat and Mi-8MTV-1 manufactured by the Kazan Helicopters. The pilots of the Mi-8MTV-1 are entrusted with an honorary mission to fly around the demonstration zone with the flag of the opening WorldSkills Kazan 2019 competitions.
The festival will be held on August 18 from 15:00 to 20:00 on the territory of the Kazan Family Centre.
Not only a spectacular flight show is expected during the festival, but also a career guidance alley, a biker show, and a concert.
