September 26, 2019 saw the closing of the in-person phase of the Republic’s Engineer of the Year contest. After its completion, the Contest Committee determined the winners of the contest.
Today, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan hosted the next organisational meeting of the Engineer of the Year event, at which the results of the Contest Committee were summed up.
Based on the examination results of the finalists’ works, each participant was assigned points, after which the contestants were invited to present their projects. The members of the Contest Committee were divided into categories of industries, with 10 experts representing each of them. The experts include representatives of higher educational institutions and technical experts of major industrial enterprises.
October 25 will see the All-Russian Applied Science Conference “Mentoring in Education: Present-Day Theory and Innovative Practices”. The need for the finalists of the Engineer of the Year contest to participate in the conference was explained by Maria Yermilova, a representative of the Kazan Open University of Talents 2.0.
According to her, following the results of the All-Russian conference, it is planned to organise an educational programme for the development of the super-subject skills of the finalists, for the exchange of experience and the integration of the accumulated engineering potential and skills into the republic’s mentoring system.
Today, the IT Park of Kazan hosted the official opening ceremony of the in-person phase of the Republic’s Engineer of the Year event.
Welcoming speeches were delivered by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov and Principal of the Kazan National Research Technological University Sergey Yushko.
As part of the opening ceremony, diplomas of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan and valuable gifts were also awarded to the winners of the 19th all-Russian Engineer of the Year 2018 contest.
The in-person phase of the Republic’s Engineer of the Year contest will take place from September 25 to 26, 2019 in the IT Park of Kazan. Its intense programme is composed of various official and educational events.
On the first day, the participants will be able to attend a plenary session entitled “Engineering of the Future. Key Trends. Role of Engineers in the Development Strategy of Tatarstan 2030” and a project session on the topic “Image and Skills of an Engineer of the Future”. Finalists will be able to communicate and share experiences with leading experts in the field of engineering.
The contestants will defend their personal achievements or specific engineering works on September 26, 2019, after which the award ceremony of the Republic’s Engineer of the Year 2019 contest will be held.
Today, the Tatarstan Ministry of Industry and Trade hosted a regular meeting of the organising committee for the republic’s contest titled “Engineer of the Year”, chaired by Albert Karimov, where the parties summed up the application campaign.
Acceptance of documents for the contest ended on July 31 of the current year. In total, 258 applications were filed: 33 applications in the Future Engineers category, 145 in the Youth, Success, Prospects category, and 80 applications in the Experience, Achievements, Competence category.
Within the framework of the meeting, it was decided to establish a contest committee and organise its work in order to evaluate the entries and determine the finalists.
A further plan for the contest was also presented: finalists will be invited to an in-person travelling workshop. Participants will be able to study advanced technical developments and technologies, communicate and exchange experience with engineers of various industries and ages, and participate in educational programmes.
Contest winners will be determined after the in-person stage. The main award is a paid internship in an area of professional competence. In addition, a meeting with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov will be organised for the winners.
Minister Karimov expressed his gratitude to the co-founder of the event, the Kazan National Research Technological University, and to the Gazprom Transgaz Kazan sponsoring the contest.
Due to the high interest shown by enterprises and participants to the first republic’s Engineer of the Year contest established on the instruction of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, the organisers announced that applications continue to be accepted until July 31, 2019.
Winners of the Contest will be entitled to take part in trainings at Russian or foreign engineering universities.
