The Russian Helicopters holding (part of the Rostec Corporation) presented the concept of the upgraded Ansat light helicopter at the Paris Air Show 2019. A number of new design solutions and options are applied, which will be introduced into full-scale production in the coming years.

In particular, the Ansat presented at Le Bourget Airport is equipped with a “glass cabin”, a new package of avionics equipment that allows flights in accordance with instrument flight rules. The helicopter is also equipped with a weather radar, an enhanced ground proximity warning module, a wreck-resistant fuel system, LED lighting tools, and a wire cutter for wire strike protection.

It is planned that the Ansat fuselage will be partly made from composite materials which would help to reduce helicopter's weight and operation costs. The number of passengers will increase up to 8 persons and the range will expand by 30%.

The light multipurpose Ansat helicopter was designed by the Kazan Helicopters Design Office. The rotorcraft is equipped with two engines and can be used for passenger and VIP transportation, cargo delivery, environmental monitoring, and as a medevac transport. High-altitude tests of Ansat have been successfully completed, which confirmed that it can be operated in mountainous terrain at altitudes up to 3,500 metres.
