Tatarstan is the leader in the NGV fuel market development in the Volga Federal District and one of the most successful Russian regions. The region is actively working on developing the gas motor fuel market. Tatarstan was the first region of the Russian Federation to develop and apply a mechanism for subsidising the conversion of vehicles to NGVs. During the period of this measure, around 4,200 vehicles were retrofitted in the region between 2016 and 2019.

Improving the environmental friendliness of transport and reducing transport costs in the economy through the use of alternative fuels in transport is an issue of national security and public health. According to a new expert study, “expanding the use of NGV fuel in public and municipal transport will reduce the mortality of the Russian population by 2,800 people and economic expenses by RUB 152.3 billion annually”.

The rating was created in order to objectively assess the current state of use of natural gas (methane) as a motor fuel in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.

The market development level in 2020 was assessed according to seven main indicators: the volume of natural gas consumption as motor fuel, the development of gas filling infrastructure, the methane vehicle fleet, the existing regional market support measures, the changes in NGV fuel consumption, the efficiency of using gas filling infrastructure, and the performance of indicators of the sub-programme “Development of NGV Fuel Market” of the Energy Development programme.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed the Concept and Roadmap for the Development of Production and Use of Electric Road Vehicles in the Russian Federation for the period until 2030. The documents were developed jointly by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Economic Development.

The purpose of the Concept is to define the key areas of the policies in the development of production and use of electric and hydrogen vehicles in Russia.

Adoption of these documents will have an impact on achieving the goals of the Decree of the Russian President “On National Development Goals of the Russian Federation until 2030” not only in terms of stimulating investment activities and industrial production, but also for environment in terms of reducing emissions of hazardous pollutants, as well as the goals and results of the Russian State Programme “Industrial Development and Competitiveness Improvement”.

The key targets for the implementation of the Concept are: launch of production of cells for traction batteries; launch of production of cathode and anode materials; commissioning of at least 72,000 charging stations, of which at least 28,000 will be fast-charging stations; commissioning of at least 1,000 hydrogen filling stations; creation of at least 39,000 additional high-performance jobs along the entire electrochemical, electro-mechanical, electronics, and electric vehicle manufacturing process chains.

The united regional competition committee of the All-Russian Exporter of the Year Award selected 10 winners in the Volga Federal District. According to the decision of the committee, which consisted of representatives of federal ministries, export support centres, the Russian Export Centre, and business associations, both small and mid-size businesses, as well as large industrial enterprises became the winners.

The prize is awarded to organisations and individual entrepreneurs who have achieved the greatest success in exports of non-energy commodities, works and services, as well as results of intellectual activity.

The Exporter of the Year award does not just fix the obvious leaders, but also identifies promising enterprises and entire economic segments, which might have been less visible without it. It is noteworthy that there is a wide representation of companies from different levels and scales among the winners, but which are equally ready for breakthrough projects. The system of government support for non-resource non-energy exports thus becomes more targeted and finely tuned.

The winners of the regional competitions will take part in the second, federal stage. The award ceremony for the winners of the federal stage will take place at the Made in Russia International Export Forum. The winners of the Exporter of the Year Award will receive various bonuses from the REC. Among them are training under an accelerator programme at the Export School in Moscow, as well as a wide range of information support measures for exporters.

Today, a ceremony of launching two ships of BLV03 project was held at the Gorky Zelenodolsk Shipyard, which is part of the Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation (Ak Bars Holding Company group). The ships were named after academicians of transport, directors of marine industry institutes LenMorNIIProekt and CNIIMF: Aleksandr Parfenov and Vsevolod Peresypkin.

On this day, the plant employees were congratulated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, representatives of the State customer, Rosatom Corporation, Zelenodolsk Municipal District Administration, Ak Bars Holding Company, Ak Bars Shipbuilding Company, as well as representatives of the design company and contractors, etc.

Vessels of the BLV03 project developed by the Marine Engineering Bureau are Ice3 class pilot boats and are intended for installation and maintenance of navigation equipment; delivery of navigational equipment and radio-equipment, specialists, supplies and property to the coast; and other actions and works within hydrographic support of the merchant shipping in the waters of the Northern Sea Route.

In addition, there was also an award ceremony for the plant’s employees who have made a significant contribution to the development of shipbuilding production. Honoured guests presented plant employees with awards and commemorative gifts.

Today, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov attended the opening ceremony of the renovated overpass crossing on Ozernaya Street and Novostroitelnaya Street, the reconstruction of which began in 2019.

The total cost of the project was about RUB 700 million. These funds were allocated from the republic’s budget.

The overpass reconstruction was not without innovations. In particular, a new type of bridge deck waterproofing consisting of 3 layers made by Sika was used. This material application system not only protects the metalwork from moisture penetration, but also provides durable anti-corrosion protection.

In addition, all safety requirements for railway crossing have been met on the overpass: galvanised guard and barrier railings with high restraint capacity have been installed, external artificial electric lighting on galvanised metal supports has been made, the under-bridge approach gauge required by railway regulations has been ensured.
