28 February 2019, Thursday

Today, Deputy Minister German Lerner had a meeting with the delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia Imomuddin Sattorov. The working meeting was also attended by representatives of Tatarstan’s industrial enterprises, such as Tatneft, KAMAZ, Kazan Giproniiaviaprom, RACIN, Zarnitsa, and others. The meeting discussed the issues of developing bilateral relations and an increase in foreign trade turnover between the republics (in late 2018, the foreign trade turnover amounted to more than US$ 12.5 million). In particular, the discussion dealt with purchase of seed potatoes in Tatarstan, needs of Tajikistan businesses for high-quality fiberglass pipes for organising water supply in rural areas, recommencement of the KAMAZ project, and other issues.

“In the next three years, the economy of our republic is switching over to the industrial-agrarian course. Therefore, the products of the Tatarstan’s mechanical engineering sector and effective technologies in agriculture are of particular interest to us”, Imomuddin Sattorov said.

Also during the visit, the delegation visited the Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Eidos-Medicine, the Technopolis Himgrad, the Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, and the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Complex.
