Air medical service received 31 helicopters in 2018, of them 18 from Kazan

Under a contract with the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK), the Russian Helicopters holding (part of the Rostec Corporation) completed the delivery of 31 medevac helicopters. The customer was supplied with 12 Ansat and 6 Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters manufactured by the Kazan Helicopters, as well as 13 Mi-8AMT helicopters made in Ulan-Ude.

All helicopters have now been handed over to end operators and involved in the implementation of the federal project titled “Ensuring Timeliness in Providing Emergency Medical Aid to Citizens Living in Hard-to-Access Areas of Russia”, which provides for the development of air ambulance service in Russia.

Ansat is a lightweight twin-engine multipurpose helicopter, the full-scale production of which is deployed at the Kazan Helicopters. According to the helicopter’s certificate, its design allows to convert it into a cargo version or into a passenger rotorcraft that can lift up to seven people.

The multipurpose helicopters of the Mi-8MTV-1 and Mi-8AMT families have unique performance and operational characteristics; they can be used in almost all climatic zones. These helicopters are capable of carrying a wide range of specialised on-board equipment.
