Russian-German Raw Materials Conference

Today, Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov took part in the 11th Russian-German Raw Materials Conference in Potsdam 2018. The Conference is held under the auspices of Minister President of Brandenburg Dr. Dietmar Woidke, and is an important platform for discussing industry topics in the energy and commodity sectors and for initiating bilateral cooperation projects.

In the course of plenary sessions, leaders of Russian regions, ministries and agencies, professionals and market experts of the two countries discussed the following topics:

  • Commodity regions in transition: consequences of resource-related structural development processes
  • Russia's challenge sustainability / environmental protection: opportunity for a new modernisation partnership?
  • Digitisation of the raw materials industry
  • High-tech use of traditional energy resources
  • Technologies for the development of non-profitable deposits
  • Prospects of Russian-German university and research cooperation

Both Russia and Germany have a long-term, traditionally rich experience of cooperation between research institutions and enterprises. Tatarstan registered about 90 companies with the participation of German capital. The raw materials industry is today one of the key areas in Russian-German cooperation.
