On July 12, the Zelenodolsk Shipyard hosted the ceremony of laying down the twelfth small-size missile ship of Project 21631 “Stavropol” (developed by the Zelenodolsk Design Office). The event took place with the participation of the Deputy Minister of Defence of Russia Aleksey Krivoruchko, Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, representatives of the Ak Bars Holding and Shipbuilding Corporation, and other officials.

The small-size missile ships of Project 21631, being built since 2010 for the Russian Navy, are multi-purpose river-sea vessels equipped with the most advanced weapons. The ships of this project are dedicated to the protection and defence of national economic zones.

It should be noted that five more ships of Project 21631 are under construction to date at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard.
