The Kazakhstan-Tatarstan business forum was held in Astana under the chairmanship of First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin and Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
“We are interested in expanding economic and investment ties with our partners from Kazakhstan in the field of automotive, shipbuilding, helicopter construction, petrochemicals, high-tech, and other industries. Many of our leading companies is working in Kazakhstan, such as Tatneft, KAMAZ, Kazan Helicopters. The SEZ Alabuga registered a resident with the participation of the Kazakhstan-based Kainar Technologies for the production of storage batteries”, Rustam Minnikhanov noted.
Last year, the Tatarstan-Kazakhstan trade turnover increased by 40% exceeding US$ 700 million. The plans are to bring this figure to US$ 1 billion.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov made a presentation of the socio-economic and investment potential of Tatarstan. Top executives of Tatneft, TAIF, KAMAZ, Ak Bars Holding Company, Kazan Helicopters and others also presented their products.
In conclusion, a number of cooperation documents were signed.
