Ceremony of launching second border patrol ship of project 22100

On June 1, the Zelenodolsk Shipyard (the company is part of the Ak Bars Holding Group) hosted a ceremony of launching the border guard ship of project 22100 named “Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky”.

The event was attended by Head of the Coast Guard Department at the FSB Border Guard Service of Russia Admiral Gennady Medvedev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Albert Karimov, Deputy Head at the Tatarstan Office of the Russian Federal Security Service Oleg Nazarov, Director General of Ak Bars Holding Company Ivan Yegorov, Director General of Ak Bars Shipbuilding Corporation Renat Mistakhov, Chief Designer of Project 22100 at the Almaz Central Maritime Design Bureau Boris Leikis, and others.

The border guard vessel (patrol boat) of the new-generation Okean project developed by Almaz Central Maritime Design Bureau (St. Petersburg) is the first ship in the contemporary history of Russia designed entirely for the requirements of maritime border guards (the Coast Guard of the FSB Border Guard Service).

The mission of an Okean-project patrol boat is the protection of the exclusive economic zone of the Russian Federation.
