Sixth Project 22160 patrol ship laid down at Zelenodolsk Shipyard

On January 13, the Zelenodolsk Shipyard hosted an official keel-laying ceremony of the sixth Project 22160 patrol boat. The vessel was named in honour of the Soviet naval officer, Captain III Rank, Commander of the 4th Division of the Harbour Defence Patrol Crafts at the Novorossiysk Naval Base of the Black Sea Fleet, Hero of the Soviet Union Nikolai Sipyagin.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Defence Yury Borisov, and other officials.

The ceremony ended with the installation of a builder's plate to the hull of the ship being built.

The Project 22160 vessels can reach up to 30 knots; they have a displacement of over 1,700 tons. Their indoor premises are designed for a crew of up to 80 people. The range of the vessel is 6,000 nautical miles; endurance is 60 days.
