Labour Glory Museum of Kazan Helicopters celebrated its 45th anniversary

The Labour Glory Museum of the Kazan Helicopters marked 45 years since its establishment. The anniversary event was attended by guests and old-timers of the company, as well as the employees of the plant, who are actively involved in the life of the museum.

The Labour Glory Museum was established in December 1972 on the initiative of the plant’s Communist Party and trade union committees, Komsomol organisation, and long-service employees; its establishment was ordered by the then Company’s director Fyodor Aristov. Since that time, the museum has become a real hub for educating youth and promoting helicopter-engineering jobs. During the work of the museum, it was visited by about 80,000 people.

Today, the museum has present-day facilities for tours and presentations. The main museum collection has been digitised to accommodate the electronic archive of company’s documents and video chronicles, electronic presentations of the company’s main milestones and landmark events have also been prepared.

The Kazan Helicopters Museum is a member of the Russian Association of Museums at Aviation Enterprises. By the decision of the Bureau of the USSR Cosmonautics Federation, the museum was awarded the Mikhail Mil Medal for its great educational work and preserving labour traditions of aircraft builders.
